Why Rent Apartments
They say that the average American moves approximately seven times in their lives. Those of us that grew up in a house might think about living in an apartment at some point, but its hard for it to feel like home. But before you buy or rent a home, you should take a look at some of the major advantages to living in an apartment over a house.
For many people, especially those that might not be very handy with tools, the biggest advantage to living in an apartment is the fact that you essentially have a repair person on call, 24 hours a day, and all repairs are completely free. Ask anyone who has bought a “fixer-upper” home how much repairs cost and who ends up doing all the work. With an apartment, you aren’t responsible for any major repair work unless it is specified in your lease. This peace of mind that you’ll always have an apartment that is in great shape is a huge comfort to most people.
The second biggest reason to go with apartment living is location. The old saying that the three most important parts of real estate are location, location, location rings extra true with apartments. If you work and play near a city center, it is almost impossible to find a house that is right in the middle of it all. Most city centers have wiped out homes in favor of higher density living spaces like apartments and condos. If you work downtown and you don’t want to hassle with a long commute, finding a parking space and paying for parking, you can always live in an apartment downtown and walk to work. The suburbs might be for some people, but they aren’t for everyone. Those folks that want to live where the action is live in apartments that are in the thick of the action!
Another great reason to choose an apartment over a home is an increased ease in moving around. Unlike owning a home that basically anchors you to a spot, having an apartment comes with a one year lease, at the most. Some apartments don’t even bother with leases and simply go with a month by month agreement. If you are climbing the corporate ladder and you don’t know where you’ll be in five years, an apartment is really your only choice.
If you’ve ever had a fantasy of living in the clouds with a view that takes your breath away each and every day, an apartment is the easiest way to achieve that dream. While homes can be built by areas that have a nice view, you don’t see any homes that have a bird’s eye view of the whole city. If you want a view where you can see what’s going on all over the city, an apartment is the only way to go.
Deciding between a house and an apartment can be a tough choice, but when you add up all the benefits, apartment living is really the only way to go!
