The Twin Neighborhoods
Casa Linda and Casa View are twin neighborhoods within the East Dallas District of the Metroplex. The area is characterized by well-kept older homes, winding tree lined streets and mature trees. Due to the proximity of White Rock Lake and the vast network of hiking, biking and jogging trails, the area is very popular with residents who enjoy the outdoors, as well as parents looking for a great neighborhood to raise their family in. Casa Linda predates Casa View by a few years, but the two areas are extremely similar. They both enjoy large homes on spacious lots, the proximity of the Bath House Cultural Center and the Casa Linda Shopping Center.
The Bath House Cultural Center
The Bath House Cultural Center was built as a cool refuge for citizens in the heat of summer. In 1930, the doors were opened to allow residents access to cool, sandy beaches extending into White Rock Lake, concession stands, locker rooms and communal baths. The Bath House was closed for several decades when White Rock Lake became a source of drinking water for the East Dallas area. In 1980, the Bath House was renovated and turned into the first Cultural Center in the area. Today, it serves the artists and creative individuals, as well as the general population of Eastern Dallas. There is a large gallery for exhibiting local art, a theater for local performances, a museum, an outdoor amphitheater and close proximity to the entertainment and relaxation found on White Rock Lake.
An Area for Families
Casa Linda and Casa View are two of the most popular neighborhoods for families in East Dallas. The unique, well-maintained homes, mature trees and gently curving roads make this an attractive plays for families with children or those who want to have children. It's a quiet place in the midst of a busy city and offers residents the opportunity to live an idyllic life within close proximity to the attractions that the greater Dallas area has to offer. From sporting events like the Cowboys and Mavericks to amusement parks like Six Flags over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, residents enjoy easy access to many different amenities. The Arts District is close by, as well, allowing residents to enjoy a night on the town in this cultural and artistic center of the city, within in just a few minutes of their homes in quiet Casa Linda and Casa View.
Shopping Galore
Both areas are built around shopping centers that bear their names. The Casa Linda Shopping Center is possibly the best example. For decades, this shopping center has provided employment, shopping opportunities and a place to congregate for young and old alike in Casa Linda. Originally home to many local stores, as well as big name chains like JC Penney's, the area is now becoming a home to local businesses and artists.
