Now, not only have I only been in this sh*t hole for 2 weeks but I already want to break my lease. When I moved in, I had 3 leaks coming from my AC; one in the bathroom, one in my bedroom and in the living room. The bathroom floor was completely flooded; I had water dripping from the ceiling in my bedroom and the 3 by 3 area that was soaking wet in the living room (all from the A/C). I also had a broken window and the nastiest carpet I've ever seen on a new move in. Everyday temperatures would reach above 90 in this wonderful Texas heat and as with the rest of you Kevin talks out of his a*s on a regular basis. I still to this day do not have a mail box key, which by the way I really don’t need because there's no door!! When I come home from work, my fridge is off because of the problems with their prehistoric breakers. When using a George Foreman grill, it again, will flip the breakers in the kitchen. No to name some “minor” things, I had roaches when I moved in, my carpet wasn’t clean by any means, there is obvious water damage on my ceiling, the apt stunk like dogs (which I don’t own.) I do however have a rabbit, which by the way maintenance referred to as “lunch.” I could go on and on about the office staff but wont waste my time on any of their raggedy asses. I will say this because I know it works…..CALL DALLAS CO. CODE ENFORCEMENT!!! Better yet you can submit your issue online at: http://www.dallascityhall.com/services/housing.html IT DOES WORK! The day after I submitted my complaint online, code enforcement, the Dallas Police & apt security were all at my front door and the day after that, my A/C got down to 70 degrees!! There is something that can be done and WE do have rights!! Take a look for yourself!!!! http://www.texastenant.org/
