The Phoenix is in a convenient location but I do not recommend living there. The overall design is a nightmare. The complex is owned by Principal Financial Group and they are suing the designer. Several items have been replaced too soon. The latest is the balcony door which were intended for indoor use only. They have gone through some real early carpet replacements. There are 449 units and B H Management is the property manager. There has been several changes in managers, including one who was fired do to mysterious disappearance of office petty cash among other things. There are two garages. If you like stolen hub caps, scratched cars then its just for you. There was also some incidences of mail theft, and of course two people who were shot and dumped in the garage. People have loud pets that piss and leave crap on the stairways and their owners do not cleanup after them. Good points: Five minute walk (mostly through the buildings maze) to Mockingbird Station and the DART Rail and Bus Stop. Next door to a Kroger Signature Store (supermarket) Bad points: Security, security, security. High vacancy for such a complex in the center of activity. Building design (maze and indoor breezeways with amplified noise in each court yard). Partying noises at 3 a.m. (apparently the tenant screening process may be void of some steps). Significant Vandalism to personal property and to building property (breakage - smashed lights, holes in walls, fire extinguisher powder in hallways. There are too many bad points for this one, Plus the rent amount is not worth it.
