READ BEFORE YOU LEASE FROM ANY WESTDALE MANAGED PR
Review Date: 8/30/2010

READ BEFORE YOU CHECK OUT ANY OF THE PROPERTIES MANAGED BY WESTDALE... As a former resident of Farm and Ranch (Deep Ellum Lofts)almost 4 years, I can give you the proper perspective, NOT the leasing office's perception that they want you to have. Gates work about 60% of the time. You pay for a carport that will collapse if it snows. They don't alert residents to break ins. I witnessed a car getting broken into after a storm. The gates NEVER work after a storm. I've had to call the office more than three times to complete maintenance requests. They NEVER replace any of your appliances. They just repair them over and over again and they never work properly. My fridge and stove NEVER were calibrated correctly. I had to deal with leaks that were never repaired. Each time it rained, I would get puddles of water inside my unit. The air and heat escapes through your doors and windows, and it is very expensive to keep it cold/warm inside as it is! Landscapers damaged my personal property and Westdale Management refused to even reply to ANY of my letters. Nothing was ever done. I was the victim of a home invasion in 2007 and Westdale did not alert the residents. Imagine waking to a huge man in your home! Wouldn't YOU want to know if this happened to any of your neighbors? They treat new tenants better than existing ones. Westdale turnover is very high, so don't get used to any new managers! They'll be gone by the time your lease is up. We had 15 ft ceilings, but management would not allow maintenance to clean the ceiling fans! Pool area is shared by 6 buildings. VERY VERY crowded. No room to swim. I've seen bigger pools in residential homes. I had a patio and erosion caused it to slope and slant. It was bricked instead of concrete. I also had a hose so that I could water my plants. The maintenance man would always help himself to my patio and my water. I had to get a lock to keep him and the landscapers out. My guests cars got broken into for change...make sure you hide everything. For what they ask you to pay to live there, you could live in a place with WONDERFUL amenities and a staff that cares! LOOOOOOOK BEFORE YOU LEASE! I had enough and left, and all of my friends are doing the same as their leases are up. I love Deep Ellum, but HATE Westdale (mis)Management. Don't get me started on the DIRTY laundry room where they failed to replace my money that I lost in their old machines or the cabinet that fell off of its hinges and hit me. I could LITERALLY go on for days about this place, but you get the gist! The office failed to put a lease renewal on my door and then acted like they had no idea what happened to it. I'm sure they wanted me gone because I was very VOCAL about their incompetence and wrote letters to the TAA and their corporate office to complain. Upon move out, they tried to charge me for days of rent after I moved out. SHADY dealings...you've been WARNED!
