I lived in Ashley Creek for 2 years from 2005-2007. I don't feel it is the worst of the worst but it could use some work especially since they recently had a rent increase and new renters today will pay appox. $165.00 more per month now for a 2 bedroom. The parking is restricted to 2 car stickers per unit which means visitors will (and frequently are) towed within 10 minutes of parking there. The visitors lots are too far away and often full, especially on weekends. The maint. workers were very nice and actually did a great job except for air conditioning. My unit was bad and they are NOT certified a/c repairmen. In the Texas heat, this was awful and the reason I elected not to re-new my lease in July, 2007. I had no problem with the office staff, BUT they also had no problem with me since I never payed my rent late. I have my own w/d unit inside my apartment BUT the apartments laundry rooms were horrible. They were filthy, crack-heads used them as free homes and none of the washers worked, I was told. Since dirty water was often standing in front of the laundry rooms I knew this was true. I was not personally affected by crime but there were many drug busts involving Dallas SWAT (shout out to Missy and JD at SWAT) as well as many instances of Dallas Police "interviewing" suspects face down in the parking area. The pool and exercise room are jokes! They do not enforce the pet policy and dogs and stray cats roam freely. My advice: Do your homework before you sign the lease and if you aren't in dire straights...move on.
