Old Lake Highlands
Old Lake Highlands is a neighborhood in East Dallas. The newer and larger Lake Highlands is located northwest of this neighborhood and takes its name from this neighborhood. Old Lake Highlands is located right beside White Rock Lake and residents of the neighborhood love to take advantage of the fun and relaxing amenities found there, like swimming, boating and sunbathing on the beach.
Historic Homes
Old Lake Highlands boasts numerous homes over 80 years old. These are very well maintained and many of them have been completely renovated or added onto. Old Lake Highlands is home to many different styles of home, from Craftsman to Tudors and everything in between. There is a movement gathering steam to have the area protected to stop "massing," that is demolishing an existing home to build a larger new home. This is designed to protect the value of homes in the neighborhood and to keep the originality of the neighborhood. It has been successfully used in other neighborhoods in the Dallas area, like Greenway Parks.
