If you’re looking to be where the action is, close to clubs, sports and all of the excitement of the Dallas Metroplex, than Irving is the place for you! Located just to the east of downtown Dallas, Irving is the home of the Dallas Cowboys current stadium and is only a short drive to the NHL’s Dallas Stars arena that they share with the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, as well as The Ballpark at Arlington, the home of baseball’s Texas Rangers. Irving has it all, no matter if you’re looking to raise a family or if you are a fan of the local nightlife. Chances are, Irving has what you’re looking for.

The city of Irving covers 67 square miles in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In the last few decades, the city of Irving has grown substantially thanks to its excellent schools, its ease in commuting to and from the city center and its many fine jobs. As of 2006, it is thought that Irving’s population has crested above 200,000.

Much like the rest of the Dallas Metroplex, many Fortune 500 companies call the city of Irving home. This means thousands of high-paying and fun jobs for the residents of this great town. Companies like Exxon Mobil, Kimberly-Clark, Omni Hotels and even the Boy Scouts! Many folks find that once they move to Irving, they don’t even have to leave the city limits to find an enjoyable career that pays handsomely.

For two more seasons, the city of Irving is home to the Dallas Cowboys and their world famous Texas Stadium. The Cowboys are moving just a few miles away to Arlington in 2009 to open their new stadium. The city of Irving is planning on tearing down the old stadium and putting homes, apartments and retail stores in its place. This should lead to even more affordable housing in the Irving area in 2010 or 2011.

One of the other major employers is the nearby Dallas – Fort Worth airport. Many airlines call Dallas – Ft. Worth home and use the airport as a hub. But don’t worry about airplane noise, the FAA ensures that the planes land and take off over a undeveloped parcel of land so that residents aren’t bothered by the noise.

There are three major school districts that serve the Irving area. There are five major high schools, so if you are thinking about moving to Irving with a teenager, you can rest assured that class sizes are reasonable and the quality of education in Irving, as it is in the whole Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, is extremely high.

If your relaxation of choice is getting out onto the links, Irving has several top quality golf courses. Irving even plays host to a yearly PGA tour event, so you know the greens and fairways are kept in top condition year round.

Irving is a place that many people move to assuming that they will be commuting to other parts of the Metroplex to work and play. But more and more people not only fall in love with Irving, they realize that this is the home they have always been looking for!
