The Dallas Texas public schools offers a variety of excellent schools for the education of children.

There are many online resources on the Internet that can help you evaluate the best school districts and best schools in which to enroll your children. When evaluating and comparing schools, be sure to take special notice of the following characteristics:

  • Total Enrollment - This is the total number of students attending this specific school. This number is important as it relates to your child's personality. If your child doesn't do well in a large student population setting then this number will help you decide his or her fit in this school.
  • SAT Scores - SAT scores of a particular school district is some indication of the quality of education the students are receiving and also the extent to which they are being prepared for college.
  • Student/Teacher Ratios - This is a very important number to examine. The higher the ratio the less attention your child will receive in class. This number is also indicative of the amount of money the school district is investing in each child.
  • School Rankings - It's important to look at the school ranking over a number of years. If a school consistency performs low then it's obvious that school has educational performance issues they have not corrected.
  • Money Spent per Student - There is not always a correlation between the educational quality of a school district and the amount of money spent on each child. If the money is being invested in areas that produced high educational results then the correlation will be more accurate.
