Coppell, a Young City with a Deep Past
Coppell, Texas was not incorporated until 1955, but it can trace its roots back to the early 1800’s. In the past, the area was a farming and railroad town, with transportation playing a large role in the area’s early success. Today, transportation still plays a big role in Coppell. One of the biggest reasons for moving or doing business in Coppell is the city’s proximity to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The airport is actually partially located within the city limits, making Coppell one of the best places to live and work for people that need quick access to air travel.
Dedicated to Businesses
Coppell has been and remains a city dedicated to promoting and welcoming business. New businesses are welcomed within the city and they have gone to great lengths to make the city a more attractive home to businesses. With incentives like expedited permit processing, a city council dedicated to growing the commercial sector of the city, a tax abatement policy targeted towards desirable businesses, a goods in transit exemption, various grant policies and a case by case basis infrastructure cost sharing plan, Coppell actively courts businesses to attract them into the community. Through their dedication to promoting businesses from abroad and locally, Coppell is ensuring the future of their citizens as well as the city itself.
More than Business
Coppell, while dedicated to attracting desirable businesses, is also a community dedicated to its residents. Part of the reasoning behind the city’s drive to bring more commerce to the city is to provide more jobs within the city for its residents. This is nowhere more apparent than in the city’s Community Garden. Local volunteers donate their time and gardening skills to help grow vegetables and other foodstuffs for donation to the city’s food pantry. Coppell takes great pride in the fact that their Community Garden has donated over 27,000 pounds of food since the garden’s creation in 1998. The garden project is designed to foster a greater sense of community among residents, while providing a helping hand for families and individuals in need.
Location, Location, Location
Coppell’s unique location is of great benefit to the residents and business that call the city home. Located almost right on top of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, transportation around the country and the world is a quick few minutes away, while the proximity of the Metroplex allows residents incredible access to the sports events, amusement parks, concerts, art and culture and history that Dallas is famed for. With amazing offerings like these, all wrapped in a quiet community dedicated to growing their business impact, it’s no wonder that Coppell shows such promise for the future.
